So last week my older sister left for Basic last week. My older sister ship date was January 13, 2009. Believe me she was nervous as hell leading up to her ship date. First of all she had to take the ASVAB which she really excelled at because she is smart as hell. Then she had to get her physical done. Which took a little longer then what she had excepted but everything turned out to be OK. On her ASVAB she scored a 69 which is pretty good, her recruiter was pretty proud of her and what not.

In me being in the Army for 8 years her recruiter had ask me to teach her some basic facing movements, the phonetic alphabet, military time, and the general orders. I was like really ” Teach my older sister some basic facing movements, the phonetic alphabet, military time, and the Army’s General Orders.” So I did. Let me tell you it was a little difficult to teach my sister all these things in the time that the recruiter had giving me. But being an NCO I had to teach her all these things so that she would be a little ahead when so is at Basic Training.

I also had my older sister doing a little P.T. program that I came up with. She was running, doing push-ups, sit-ups, flutter kicks, mule kicks, side straddle hops, the over hand clap. All that seemed to work she lost 12 pounds before she shipped to basic. She also knew the phonetic alphabet, and all the Army’s General Orders, and military time. So i wish my older sister the best in Basic, and through A.I.T.

She also studied for the ASVAB by using some of the books that she bought off e-bay. And all the studying paid off, she happened to get a 35,000 dollar signing bonus.
